Watch trailer: Sofia Black-D’Elia is a “single drunk woman”

“I miss being drunk. There was a lot less responsibility,” Sofia Black-D’Elia says in a new trailer for “Single Drunk Female.” The upcoming Freeform comedy sees “Your Honor” actress play Samantha, a 20-year-old alcoholic who has to deal with the consequences of being arrested for public intoxication, destruction of personal property and almost blinding her colleague at a media company in New York .

Samantha is desperate to avoid jail and agrees to attend rehab and leave NYC to move back to her mother (Ally Sheedy) in Boston, where she gets a job at a local grocery store. Sober lifestyle is a big adjustment for Samantha – and the discovery that her former best friend (Sasha Compère) is engaged to her ex does not make things easier. “I want all the booze and all the drugs at the same time,” she admits.

Created by Simone Finch (“The Conners”), “Single Drunk Female” premieres on Freeform on January 20th. Leslye Headland (“Russian Doll”) directed its pilot.
