Business Insider reporter Cheng is leaving for new opportunities

Business Insider Reporter Candy Cheng leaving the news organization for a new opportunity.

Her last day was Wednesday.

Cheng was a senior correspondent covering venture capital and technology startups. She started in November 2020.

She has previously been the executive producer of Bloomberg Studio 1.0, Bloomberg Television’s long interview series.

At Bloomberg Television, she was also head of technology interviews, and she regularly booked top executives, investors, entrepreneurs and other news producers for Bloomberg Media Group, including Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, former IBM CEO Ginni Rometty and Quibi CEO Meg Whitman, among others.

During her time at Bloomberg, she helped launch several television news programs, including “Lunch Money”, “Bloomberg West”, “Studio 1.0” and “Bloomberg Technology”. She was also in the lead Bloomberg TV’s coverage of major technology IPOs, including Facebook, Alibaba and Uber.

Prior to joining Bloomberg in 2010, Cheng was the producer of CNBC’s “Mad Money w / Jim Cramer. “She was responsible for the” Mad Money Back to School Tour, “which produced remote shows with more than 1,000 audiences.
