Wendy Williams announces coronavirus breakthrough delay delays season show

Wendy Williams further delays her show back after being diagnosed with COVID-19.

The Instagram account for “The Wendy Williams Show” announced Wednesday that the daytime host, 57, is battling a “breakthrough case on COVID-19.”

“While continuing her health assessments, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19,” the statement began.

“To give Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production adheres to all SAG / AFTRA and DGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ on Monday the 4th. October. “

The show will be repeated in the meantime.

The announcement comes after Williams had to bow to promotional activities due to “ongoing health issues” that required “further evaluations.”

After the news of Williams’ health problems broke out, a source exclusively told Page Six that she probably would not be attending the premiere of her show.

“People are tight about it, but there are whispers that she will not be there,” the source said.

In a conversation with Dr. Oz in March expressed Williams’ reluctance to get the COVID-19 plug.

“No. I do not trust it,” she said. “I’ve never had a flu shot either, and you and I have talked about it. Several of the doctors on my team have told me, ‘Wendy, get the flu shot.’ I’ve never had the flu. I do not get a flu shot. I very rarely get a cold. I never have a headache. A source confirmed to Page Six on Wednesday that Williams has been receiving the COVID-19 vaccine since she announced her skepticism.
