Vikings at the Cardinals: Initial injuries

Vikings at the Cardinals: Initial injuries

Both the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals are well underway with their preparations for Sunday’s Week 2 game in the desert. We have the first injury reports for both clubs, so let’s look at some of the bumps and bruises.

As always, we start with the guest team.

Minnesota Vikings

Did not participate

  • LB Anthony Barr (knee)
  • CB Harrison Hand (hoarding)

Limited participation

  • OT Christian Darrisaw (list)
  • LB Nick Vigil (ankle)

Full participation

No players specified

At this point, I think I would be more surprised if Anthony Barr did practice rather than seeing that he is out again. I’m not sure how much we can expect from him in the future, which is frustrating. Hand had a good game on special teams, so hopefully his setback is a minor one. Vigil had an excellent match against Bengals on Sunday also at Barr’s place.

And now on to the home team.

Arizona Cardinals

Did not participate

  • OL Kelvin Beachum (ribs)
  • WR AJ Green (Rest Day for Veterans)
  • WR DeAndre Hopkins (Rest Day for Veterans)
  • Olympics Rodney Hudson (veteran rest day)
  • LB Devon Kennard (hoarding)
  • S Charles Washington (thigh)

Limited participation

With a couple of veteran rest days sprinkled in, the Cardinals do not appear to have any really serious injury problems, as things are right now. Clearly, we are monitoring the reports during the week to see if anything changes.

These are your first damage reports for the Vikings and Cardinals, folks. With luck, we’ll see Hand and Vigil (at least) upgraded a bit when the next reports come out Thursday afternoon.
