Toronto teacher charged with six counts of sexual assault

A middle-aged Toronto man who worked as a babysitter and is currently employed as a teacher at an elementary school in the city is accused of sexually assaulting a seven-year-old boy during his care between 2014 and 2016.

Toronto Police say the man cared for a seven-year-old boy between those years and allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulted the child. The alleged offenses took place in homes in O’Connor Dr. and St. Clair Ave. E. area and Queen St. E. and Carlaw Ave. -the area.

Last month, members of the Center for Children and Youth Advocacy Center began a study. On August 13, the CYAC officer arrested the man.

Gianni Jarman, formerly known as Gianni Pate, 41, was charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual harassment and two counts of sexual assault.

Jarman is employed at Secord Elementary School in East York.
