Dave Mustaine is Anti-Mask and possibly Anti-Vaxx, because of course he is

Dave Mustaine has taken a stand on masking and alluding to the “tyranny” of vaccine mandates, and surprised no one.

The Megadeth brain is a self-conscious devotee Bill O’Reilly who has previously argued for secession, declaring himself a birth, accused President Obama of “staging” the tragic shootings in Aurora and Wisconsin to make the United States “Nazi America, who spoke out against gay marriage, ordered African women to “put a plug in it” and supported Rick Santorum as president.

Megadeth is currently touring with Lamb of God, Trivium and Hatebreed. Before the tour began, LoG frontman Randy Blythe made an appeal to fans who came to shows to get vaccinated and wear a mask.

But when he spoke to the crowd at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, NJ last night (September 15), Mustaine made it clear that he is not on the same page as Blythe. The singer / guitarist addressed what he sees as “tyrannical” ongoing efforts to curb the COVID-19 pandemic – including getting children who are not eligible for vaccination to wear masks at school – said:

“I just want to tell you how amazing it is. Look around, boys. Look to the right, look to the left, and see how wonderful it is. We are all here. We are not crazy and we do not shout at people: ‘Wear your fucking mask.’

“Listen, it starts with this kind of feeling that we are building right now. We feel together, we feel like it [there’s] strength in numbers. We feel we are invincible. People will not be able to stop us.

“Right now it’s tyranny going on. This is called tyranny. Look up when you get home. And tyranny is not just in government. Tyranny is in schools right now, and tyranny is in the medical business.

“We have the power, especially us … heavy metal fans, we have the power to change things.”

By the way, the BB&T Pavilion is a Live Nation venue, which means that everyone on this show, from audience members to the venue staff to the musicians and their crew, must present proof of vaccination to gain access … from October 4th. Mustaine just made it in under the cord.

You can watch video of Mustaine’s speech below.

Megadeth are currently preparing their new album with the title appropriately enough, The sick, the dead and the dying.
