A CANNABIS farmer in Radcliffe, caught with 200,000 pounds of the drug, has been jailed for 18 months.

Police said at the time that four rooms were equipped for cannabis cultivation in a house on Church Street West.

Neighborhoods in Radcliffe executed a search warrant on the property on April 28.

An electricity meter had been bypassed as part of the hydroponic setup.

Later investigators said the operation had put neighboring buildings in danger of catching fire.

An estimated 280 plants with a street value of £ 200,000 were restored.

Thanh Le, 55, was jailed in Minshull Street Crown Court after admitting to being concerned about supplying cannabis and abstracting electricity.
