Garmin has announced a new fitness-focused GPS smartwatch that allows users to send texts or ask questions via Siri voice commands.
Garmin Venu 2 Plus is a fitness and activity tracker with smartwatch features. It has, among other things, energy monitoring, stress tracking, women’s health functions and a pulse oximeter, among other health-focused functions.
Unlike previous Garmin smartwatches, Venu 2 Plus is also compatible with third-party voice assistants like Siri or Google Assistant. Garmin says users can post texts, ask questions, control smart home devices and more from their wrist. Garmin says that unlike most smartwatches, it is compatible with both iPhone and Android.
The Garmin smartwatch also includes security features such as event detection and a range of fitness features and preloaded workouts. Its smartwatch features include built-in music streaming, smart notifications and a dial and App Store.
On the design side, Venu 2 Plus has a 43 mm watch case with stainless steel edges. It has a Gorilla Glass AMOLED screen and battery life of up to nine days.
The Venu 2 Plus, which received a CES 2022 Innovation Award, sells for $ 449.99. It’s currently available at Garmin.com. It comes in the colors Silver Stainless, Slate Stainless and Cream Gold.
