Apple TV + has released the first official trailer for “Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock”, its long awaited reboot of the classic series.

The series will see the Jim Henson-created Fraggles “start the new year by embarking on epic, howling funny adventures about the magic that happens when we celebrate and worry about our interconnected world.”

In addition to new characters with voices from Patti LaBelle, Cynthia Erivo, Daveed Diggs, Ed Helms and Kenan Thompson, the reboot will also feature a performance by the rock band Foo Fighters.

The “Fraggle Rock” reboot will join Apple’s existing line of Fraggle originals, which includes a collection of shorts called “Fraggle Rock: Rock On!”

The series is executive-produced by Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford of The Jim Henson Company, as well as John Tartaglia. Showrunners Matt Fusfeld and Alex Cuthbertson also co-produce with Yariv Milchan and Michael Schaefer. Dave Goelz and Karen Prell act as co-executive producer, while Harvey Mason Jr. acts as executive music producer and Ritamarie Peruggi acts as producer.

In addition to the “Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock” and “Fraggle Rock” shorts, Apple’s partnership with The Jim Henson Company also includes other originals such as “Harriet The Spy”.

All 13 episodes of “Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock” will premiere on Apple TV + on Friday, January 21st.
