SCORES: Sebi encourages investors to file complaints through online complaint mechanisms

Market regulator Sebi on Wednesday urged investors to submit their complaints through online mechanisms, more specifically through the SCORES portal and the mobile application, for effective complaint resolution.

SCORES stands for Sebi Complaints Redress System.

Further, to raise awareness of online complaint mechanisms, Sebi has asked exchanges, including commodity derivatives exchanges, depositaries and clearing companies, to show the possibility of filing complaints to them directly on the website of their websites and mobile apps.

In addition, they have been asked to display a link to the SCORES website as well as a link to download the SCORES mobile app on the website for their websites and mobile apps, according to a circular.

The Authority has also asked these market infrastructure institutions to notify Sebi of the status of the implementation of the provisions of this circular through the monthly development report.

SCORES is a complaints system launched in June 2011. It is a platform designed to help investors file their complaints online with Sebi, concerning the securities market, against companies, intermediaries and market infrastructure institutions.
