HBO Max debuts the official trailer for its latest animated series for adults, Ten Year Old Tom, written by and starring Steve Dildarian.
HBO Max released the first trailer for its latest original adult-animated series, Ten year old Tom.
Ten year old Tom, an animated comedy series with ten episodes from Steve Dildarian, debuts on the streaming service on September 30th. The series was created and written by Dildarian, who will also act as an executive producer alongside animated veteran Nick Weidenfeld (Boondocks, Rick & Morty).
“Steve Dildarian is a tremendous talent and a wonderful collaborator,” said Billy Wee, Senior Vice President of Comedy and Animation at HBO Max. “We can not wait for comedy fans everywhere to experience the absurd brilliance of Ten year old Tom. “
Dildarian will also star as Tom alongside a talented voice cast including Byron Bowers, Todd Glass, Gillian Jacobs, Edi Patterson and John Malkovich. In the trailer, the series will feature guest appearances, including David Duchovny as a depressed ice man and Jennifer Coolidge as an avid football mom, as well as Natasha Lyonne, Mark Proksch, Tim Robinson, George Wallace and more. Dildarian previously animated television series were The life and times of the hour, which aired on HBO from 2008 to 2012.
“I wanted to write a show about a child who tries to understand the world around him, but to do so in a way that does not draw blows,” Dildarian said. “HBO Max is the perfect home for such a show, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity.”
Ten year old Tom follows accidents with Tom, who, as the trailer says, is a “good kid” who often gets “bad advice” from the adults around him. In the series synopsis, “Being a child is hard enough for Tom, but when there seems to be lurking bad influences around every corner – from law-abiding parents and drug-trafficked bus drivers to school administrators who want to sleep with his mother – it is downright impossible. “Even though the adults in Tom’s life certainly mean well, they just can not lead by example.”
The series is produced by Work Friends, which is a joint venture between Weidenfeld and Tomorrow Studios. Executive manufacturers for Ten year old Tom also includes Marty Adelstein (Cowboy Bebop, Hanna) and Becky Clements (Snowpiercer, Physical) from Tomorrow Studios.
Ten year old Tom premieres on HBO Max on September 30th.
