Elton John is postponing dates for tours in Europe so he can have surgery on his injured hip.
The 74-year-old singer-songwriter had this year to play cities in the UK and Europe as part of the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, followed by shows in the US in 2022.

He said in a statement on Thursday that “despite intensive physical and specialist treatment, the pain has continued to get worse and lead to increasing mobility difficulties. I have been advised to operate as soon as possible to get myself back to full fitness and make sure , that there are no long-term complications. “
