2021 Business Expo held with cartoon, cartoon theme

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) -Comics, cartoons and characters were shown in full when a fixed event in Jonesboro returned.

Business Expo 2021 presented by the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce and KAIT took place Wednesday morning at the First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro. The event returned to its 31st iteration after launching in 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic.

Participants voted on a theme about comics and cartoons, and local businesses put their spin on it.

“It has been really fun, of course we really go into it. I know we did not make it last year, so we were really happy to do so this year, ”said Vanna Headley, Empower’s community information coordinator. “We went a little out of it to make up for last year.”

Headley was draped in Nightmare Before Christmas gear when the Empower cabin looked like the perfect Halloween sky.

Her style outweighed the Marvel and DC vibes from other cabins in the surrounding area.

Business Expo President for 2021 Lorie Cartwright said the event was a success and she was grateful to see it return to full capacity.

“It’s a true business-to-business experience. So you can talk about yourself, talk about your business and get everything out there, ”Cartwright said.

The event exists for local businesses to connect and showcase their products and services in front of everyone to see.

In the 2021 edition of the event, there were 178 booths and included a lunch, a silent auction and a trade show.

Masks were required and social distancing was encouraged whenever possible.
