Wind warning issued for Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows

Weather forecast issued by Environment Canada at 3pm on Tuesday

A wind warning has been issued for Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and other communities across Metro Vancouver overnight.

Environment Canada issued a weather forecast at 3pm on Tuesday, September 14th.

Westerly gusts of up to 70 km / h are expected around midnight and will continue overnight until Wednesday due to a cold front crossing the southern BC.

The windstorm is expected to ease on Wednesday afternoon, read the warning on the government’s website.

Wednesday 15 September is expected to be mainly sunny with a height of 17 C and Thursday with a height of 18 C. Rain will return to the area on Friday with the possibility of showers on the weekend and into next week.

Other communities that will be affected by the storm include: Vancouver City; Burnaby; New Westminster; West Vancouver; North Vancouver; Coquitlam; Surrey; Langley; Richmond; and Delta.
