Two people were admitted Tuesday night after reporting they had been shot Tuesday night in southeast DC

Police from the Metropolitan Police Department said a man ran into a 7th District police station and said he was shot in the left thigh and arm around 11.30pm. Officers provided first aid and he was taken to a hospital in stable condition according to police.
When patrol personnel went to the scene where the man said the shooting had happened near 24th and Hartford Street Southeast, police say they found a young woman at the fire station near Irving Street Southeast who said she had also been shot.
She was taken to hospital for treatment, and is in stable condition, according to police. Police do not say where the girl was shot.
While police were investigating the scene, police found a number of shell injuries. The investigation is still ongoing. Police are working to find out what led to the shootings, and are searching for anyone who may be involved.

This shooting was the first of three in Southeast DC Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Police are still investigating all three.
