‘I have more legs than United have trophies in the last eight years!’: Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott replies that Manchester Utd fans mocked his twisted ankle injury – but rival fans are quick to point out his mistake!

  • Harvey Elliott had successful surgery on his sprained ankle Tuesday
  • The 18-year-old will now begin his recovery and hopes to play again this season
  • He responded that a United fan mocked his injury to TikTok with a jibe left on him
  • Still, opposition fans noted that the midfielder’s comment was not accurate

Liverpool star Harvey Elliott responded that a Manchester United fan mocked his twisted ankle injury at TikTok with his own sharp mood – but he did not quite get his facts right!

The 18-year-old had a successful operation on his ankle on Tuesday in London, where the Reds expected the midfielder to be able to play again this season after the horror injury suffered against Leeds on Sunday.

Now, in response to a United fan commenting ‘He does not walk like that anymore’ on a TikTok video with Elliott, the midfielder responded at his own expense and said: ‘However crazy how I have more legs than United have trophies in the last 8 years. ‘

However, rival fans on social media were quick to point out Elliott’s mistakes, as United have actually won four trophies since 2013.

The Red Devils won the FA Cup and Community Shield in 2016, while Jose Mourinho won the 2017 EFL Cup and Europa League 2017 with United.

They have not won a trophy since then, despite being close after losing in last season’s Europa League final to Villarreal.

One fan said, ‘It seems math is not his strong suit,’ while another said, ‘It does not even make sense. Definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed. ‘

Elliott will face a longer absence, but is taking a professional approach to his comeback.

‘Operation was a success! Thank you so much to everyone for your amazing support, ‘the 18-year-old wrote on Instagram, attached to a shot of the winger in the hospital bed.

‘The road to recovery begins now. At the end of the storm there is a golden sky, ‘he added, referring to a text from Liverpool’s’ You Never Walk Alone’ song.

The equalizer by Pascal Struijk resulted in a red card, with Leeds’ appeal against dismissal rejected by the FA this morning.

Struijk will now miss the club’s next three games – against Newcastle, Fulham in the Carabao Cup and West Ham – despite Elliott saying the challenge did not deserve a red card.
