1 Babuscha Baboon’s flight, puppet theater barge, little Venice
Whimsical and lovely, this small, floating theater on a converted barge is currently putting The Flight of Babuscha Baboon. The puppet show tells the story of a baboon that will fly to the moon in a hot air balloon that meets an elephant threatened by ivory hunters along the way, using puppets and shadow puppets. For the adults, there is a bar on board that is open before evening performances on Saturday 23rd and 30th October.

2 Gruffalo’s Child Trail in Kew Gardens, Richmond
Gruffalo’s Child Trail runs this fall, drawing an enchanting journey through Kew Gardens. Meet much-loved characters from Julia Donaldson’s beloved book, including Fox, Owl, Snake, The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child, and the Big Bad Mouse. As part of the trail, children collect tracks designed to make their curiosity go and explore the landscapes of the gardens. While you are there, you can also learn about autumn harvest in the kitchen garden and explore the grounds from above on the Treetop Walkway. If you want to get out of London, Wakehurst also has The Gruffalo’s Child Trail.

3 Explore the tropics at ZSL London Zoo, Regent’s Park
Head straight to the tropics with London Zoo’s when the Giants of the Galápagos open on Saturday, October 9 – home to Dolly, Polly and Priscilla, three giant Galápagos turtles. Preschoolers can enjoy free history lessons with TV favorites Bing and Flop before taking an autumn trail across the zoo to help the duo complete an animal caretaker’s daily checklist and encounter magnificent animals Along the road.
