Chinese defector claims he warned the United States that China is covering up a deadly new virus in Wuhan MONTHS before Covid -19 was declared a pandemic – but was ‘ignored’ by Trump officials
- The defector Wei Jingsheng said he warned the Trump administration about Covid

- Had heard rumors that a ‘new SARS virus’ was being kept secret in China
A Chinese defector claims he tried to warn US officials about a deadly new virus in Wuhan five months before the World Health Organization declared Covid-19 a pandemic.
Wei Jingsheng revealed in a shocking new documentary that he took his concerns about the situation to senior figures in the Trump administration, but was subsequently ignored.
The longtime democracy campaigner who has been jailed for ‘counter-revolutionary activities’ said he took the initiative in November 2019 when whispers of a ‘new SARS virus’ began circulating on WeChat and other Chinese social media platforms.

‘I felt they were not as worried as I was, so I tried my best to provide more details and information,’ he tells Sky News in the documentary, What Really Happened in Wuhan.
‘They may not think a country’s government would do such a thing (cover up a virus), so I kept repeating myself in an attempt … to persuade them.’
Xi Jinping’s authoritarian regime desperately tried to shut down whistleblowers and silence any discussion of the virus in the early stages of the Wuhan outbreak – even as countless corpses began flooding the city’s hospitals.
All social media references about a new SARS virus or an ‘outbreak’ were censored and brave medical staff trying to speak out and warn the world were detained and forced to sign false confessions about panic agitation.
Sir. Jingsheng, who was deported to the United States several years earlier, said he was aware of what was happening through insiders of the Beijing Communist Party, who shared their fears about the situation and described the central government’s cover-up.
But despite the impending health crisis that would destroy the United States and the rest of the globe, his message was not taken seriously, he claims.

The Chinese dissident would not disclose which political leaders he spoke to, but insisted they were high-ranking government officials and had an ear for then-President Donald Trump.
‘I’m not sure if this politician wants me to talk about him right here,’ he said.
‘But I would say he is a politician high enough to reach the President of the United States.’
As coronavirus cases continued to ravage Chinese, the authoritarian state kept the outbreak hidden from the WHO until December 31, when it was no longer possible to contain knowledge of its existence.

But even then, Beijing denied that the virus could be transmitted from person to person until it was finally cleared for a month in late January.
The WHO described the mysterious outbreak as a public health emergency of international concern on January 30, 2020, as infections began sweeping over other nations, including the United States earlier that month.
The virus was officially named Covid-19 on 11 February 2020, before it was finally declared a pandemic a month later by the WHO on 11 March.
There have been 226 million cases so far, resulting in over 4.6 million deaths.
More than 628,000 of these deaths occurred in the United States.
A book by award-winning Australian journalist Sharri Markson, with the same title as the documentary, will be published on 29 September
